The Cynosure Order of Jedi follows a different organizational structure, than the Jedi Order during the days of the Old Republic did. Recreating a hidden Jedi Order the teachings of Jedi Master Rai Khan, Larn Daruna divided the Order into four groups: Battlemasters, Consulars, Mystics and Shadows. Each of these groups was called a 'Path'.

Path of the Battlemaster
Battlemasters were the warriors of the Order. To become a Battlemaster, a student had to master several of the forms of lightsaber combat. Battlemasters focused on combat-enhancing Force techniques. It is their duty to protect the Order in times of need.

Path of the Consular
Consulars held the deepest connection to the Force. They were the seers of the Order, probing the Force for guidance and clairvoyance. Their intimate connection to the Force made them very aware of all living things and as such they made excellent diplomats.

Path of the Mystic
To insure the Jedi would learn from the mistakes made by the Old Republic Jedi, one of the four Paths was focused solely on lorekeeping and teaching: the Mystics. They kept knowledge safe inside the Cynosire library, but were evenly versed in acquiring data. Besides being historians and teachers, many Mystics were also trained to be spies and hackers.

Path of the Shadow
The shroud of the Dark Side had clouded the Old Jedi, making a way for a Sith Lord to take control of the galaxy. In order to ensure the new generations of Jedi would learn to recognize and face the Dark Side - rather than ignore it completely and fear it - the Path of the Shadow was created. These Jedi would walk the fine line between the two Sides of the Force. Only the most pure of heart can face the perils of the Dark Side and still stay true to the light. Those that do can fight it like no other.
