Jedi Knight: Cynosure. A Star Wars RPG
You have found the forgotten Jedi Order of Cynosure. Founded as a refuge for the remnants of the Jedi Order after the Clone Wars, Cynosure attempts to remain hidden from the rest of the galaxy - and especially its Sith rulers. But will their secrecy last?
This is the story of a handful of Jedi - and their friends - in their struggle to survive the Jedi Purge and rebuild their Order. In a new, fresh way. You are welcome to join our story.
We write our characters' stories in conjunction with each other. If you enjoy writing, telling stories and Star Wars, you've come to the right place! Why not check out some of the posts we've made, or read through some bios? If you're interested, you can submit a character application through the 'Join' menu. We'd love to have you!
May the Force be with you and remember the first rule of Cynosure: seek first to understand, then to be understood.

Some VERY exciting news.
Some of you know that the entire concept and idea of Cynosure came from a group of people that used to play Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight. Way back in the day.
That group set itself above the teenage angst issues that plagued most of the community around Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight and became known for their maturity and willingness to help.
When I joined that group, years ago, it was on its way down. Real life was interfering for a lot of original members. When it was clear the clan would discontinue, some of the original members nonetheless blessed me with the legacy of the clan: if I ever felt like doing something cool with it, I could.
So that's where this RPG sprung from. It's my attempt at keeping some of the unique concepts of the clan alive.
Now, about that news:
I have had Kageboushi Gen (a name you will recognise if you've read over our code) on Facebook for a long while. He is usually very busy. Last week, though, he posted a screenshot from the Jedi Knight days. Which got a response from several original Cynosure members!
Moments later I was chatting with the one and only Rai Khan, the original founder. And not much later, having posted this website to the Facebook topic, Gen applied for a role as, well... a Jedi Holocron. ;)
So without further ado, please welcome one of the founding members of Cynosure to our humble roleplaying adventures: Kageboushi Gen!
It's been too long, old friend. :)
Now, to top it off: Lyrao and I have been thinking over starting a decent mission for us all to take part in. Stay tuned.
See you out there,

Fellow Jedi (and supporting characters!),
First of all, I want to just affirm the fact that it's been rather quiet around here. That's okay: this sim came forth from my own desire to play out my Jedi character. It was never about a certain amount of posts per month or a certain standard to which I wanted to hold myself or any other writers.
We've had several people join us over the months. I now realize this has grown a little beyond my initial scope, which again is totally fine. In fact, I'm honored people are interested in joining our little project!
Anyway, I feel it's up to me to give some direction to you all. So here goes.
*1. What can you post about?*
We've reached the hidden temple on Lsenta. I will soon post about a vision Larn has had with the temple's former owner, Master Rai Khan. Basically, Rai forsaw the destruction of the Order and provided us, a lucky few, with a refuge and a chance to start over.
Imagine the temple as a complex with various dormitories, training areas, a council area... all hewn from the rock, underground. Mysterious lit by a yet undiscovered power source.
I want to encourage you guys to explore the complex. I'm not copyrighting it: go make up stuff you would like to see in there. If your character is into engineering, go check out the power source. If you're into combat, go find a training room. Larn will of course go straight for the library.
If you have an idea you feel is way out there, do check it with me. Not because I'm the boss, but because it's good to have a central person in control of the overall consistency of the story.
For example, I would say going outside the temple is not a good idea at the moment (unless, of course, you have a solid reason to do so). We need to regroup. We can look into adding members to our order, though. And maybe we'll need food? Supplies? Anything else?
With a number of people having joined the sim, I would like to encourage you to interact with each other. Start joined posts and play out different situations. Press each others' buttons. :)
*3. A word on ranking and hierarchy*
You may have noticed I slapped the Initiate rank on one character and Master on another. For me, this is based purely on what kind of character you would like to play. For all purposes of administration of the sim, I run this joint and have David, the player behind Lyrao, as my sidekick. Whatever ingame hierarchy we establish has nothing to do with the hierarchy out-of-character.
This may never be an issue, but I want to make it clear nonetheless.
Should we grow further in members (I don't expect or strive towards it, but y'all should feel free to invite friends to the sim) then I'll prolly want to delegate introductions into the sim to the various leaders of ingame sections of the Orders. In which case I'd like to appoint a Head BattleMaster, Consular, etc. All the future, though, and perhaps never necessary.
That's it for now. Thank you all for being a part of this. Go have fun and don't hesitate to PM or email me about any ideas you might have. Don't feel restrained by anything: if you have an idea, just play it out. Use your better judgment.
See you all in the temple!

The entire western wing of the temple was still shrouded in mystery. With the ragtag group of Jedi settling in, the first week of their stay on Lsenta had seen new arrivals and getting everything setup had been the focus. But when Neena suggested exploration during dinner, Larn's curiosity had…
Shana had been, more or less, dismantling the hangar. Or at least removing a false wall that encased a very old Defender she sensed through the Force. Covered in ice shavings and dirt, the Shadow found herself roaming the temple's main floors for a bit of a break.
One of the first things Shana did after being released from the infirmary, was to repair her damaged lightsai. The fact it was built partially of phirk saved the outer shell but it took her all night and into the next morning to fix the internal circuitry. Shana made shorter…
The infirmary kept completely in style with the rest of the temple complex. Intricate carvings covered the arched doorposts, though the center of the chamber featured emptier walls and more machinery. What looked like an operating theater occupied the centre space of the rectangular room.
Off to the side, a…

"Ah, Neena," said Larn.
He came strolling into the dining hall, finding the newest addition to the group already there. She was giving Lyrao, who had taken upon herself the task of preparing food on a regular basis, a hand in the kitchen.
"How was your first day here?"
